Course Overview
We often move through the world without stopping to recognize the unique and breathtaking design that surrounds us. Pausing to learn about the ‘why’, the ‘how’, and the ‘by whom’, we build the knowledge and confidence we need to create and develop our own unique styles.
In this course, we will explore different eras of residential architecture, the architects of the times, and their inspirational works. Students will have the opportunity to produce their own designs based on the inspirations we discuss.
Student Outcomes
- Students will have an expanded knowledge of architects and their works
- Students will learn the art of ‘inspiration’ vs ‘copying’
- Students will compare and contrast different types of architecture over time
