Course Overview
The story of humankind has always boiled down to a single word - survival. From the animal hides and stone tools that allowed us to survive the Ice Age, to the bountiful harvests of the agricultural revolution, to the marvels of modern medicine, the inventive spirit of our species has not only redefined the limits of human possibility, but has also transformed the way we interact with the world around us. In this course, we will be exploring the legacy of the world’s greatest inventors and learning how their creativity, problem-solving, and resilience shaped the world. By reflecting on the past and imagining the future, we will uncover how innovation allows us not just to survive - but to thrive!
Student Outcomes:
- To understand the iterative and problem-solving processes at the heart of any invention.
- To work collaboratively to solve design challenges.
- To learn how to ask the questions that challenge conventional thinking.
